VOL. XI. NO. 21 ATLANTIC COAST REALTY COMPANY Conducted Successful Sale of Lots here Tuesday--" Enthusiastic Citizens Purchased Eagerly at Good Prices - Colored People Showed Interest Tuesday was an ideal day spr ng-like with clear sky, and a happy crowd first at Sycamore Park to witness the sale •f lots by the Atlantic Coast Realty, Company, which had been busy for weeks arranging for the sale. One week'of'extremely bad weath er had hindered the company in putting the land in as good shape as was desired, hut this made the lots none the less desirable as was evidenced by the ready bidding. The Washington Cornet Bind helped to enliven the scence, fur nishing excellent music throughout thr The .sale of lots for white people commenced at 10:30 o'clock and continued for several hours under the management of J W. Fcrrell, as«.isttd by an able corps of auctiouers and other helpers. This company is a newly organiz ed oue, but there is uothing lacking about its management of a sale. All the lots were sold as fasjt as tlie ttletl eotlld* rttfcT tlietti, s6tiie men buying as many as eight. The free lot fell to C.rover Godwin, and the bag of gold was distributed among some out of town people. There was a scramble, of for the uickles and dimes. In the afternoon at 2:30 o'doik, the sale of lots for the colored peo ple commenced. Every attraction that had made the previous sale in teresting was given there. The people bought eagerly and were pleased with bargains. A free lot fell 10 the share of a young colored woman, and the gold was given away with the nickles and dimes. The day marked another step in the forward movement of the town, and the faith of the peo ple iu its future was never more apparent.
